The MSS SP-75 gr WPHY 60 is a carbon based alloy used for its high strength properties. The main components of the MSS SP 75 WPHY material are nickel, chromium, molybdenum, manganese and copper. Besides these elements, this carbon based alloy contains trace amounts of metals like vanadium, titanium, niobium, sulphur, silicon and phosphorus. WPHY 60 Fittings Heat Treatment

Most of the manufacturers of WPHY 60 Pipe fittings produce these fittings as per MSS SP 75 shall be furnished in the heat treated condition. Hot formed fittings temp need be cooled below the lower critical temperature prior to heat treatment. WPHY 60 Fittings are recommended be heat treated by one or more of the following procedures: annealing (stress relieving), normalizing, normalizing and tempering, quenching and tempering.
