What is X70 Pipe?
API X70 steel pipe is a carbon-based steel pipe which contains alloying compounds. Besides carbon, the API 5L X70 material include silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulphur and niobium. The percentage of manganese and Silicon are higher in the alloy used to make API 5L X70 tubular pipes, API 5L X70 Seamless Pipe Suppliers. And elements like phosphorus, sulphur and niobium are found in trace amounts. The inclusion of these compounds in the alloy gives the X70 Pipe Material increased mechanical properties.
The required minimum yield strength for l485m steel pipe is 70300 psi or 485 Mpa while the minimum tensile strength is around 92100 psi or 635 Mpa. X70 Lsaw Pipe have diameters that fall in the range of 18” to 56”. The surface of tubo API 5L gr x70 is treated with either black oil paint, anti-corrosion oil, varnish, tape wrap, FBE, 3LPE, 3LPP, coal tar, PE or they could be colour coated. The surface of API 5L X70 seamless pipes could be coated with concrete or heat marked. While the surface of these API 5L Grade X70 Pipe can be either varnished or oiled externally, they could be left bare and unprotected as required by the buyer. L485 pipes can also be galvanized, through either the hot or cold process. Longitudinal Welded pipes that are galvanized will have excellent resistance to rusting.
