API 2W Gr 50 Impact Resistance in HAZ Steel Plates
API 2W Gr50 Intermediate Strength Structural Steel manufactured by Thermo-Mechanical Control Processing TMCP for impact resistance in heat affected zone (HAZ). These API 2W Plate are good to use for welded construction of offshore structures/ offshore platforms. The minimum yield strength of API 2W Gr 50 Plate is 50ksi (345MPa) and a minimum, mid-thickness, transverse Charphy V-notch impact toughness of 41J (30 ft-lbf) at -40ºC (-40ºF). API 2W Grade 50 steel plate Thickness, width, and length tolerances are in accordance with the requirements of ASTM A6. The flatness tolerance for as-supplied product is 1⁄2 ASTM A6. Where a TMCP steel is required these API 2W grade 60 & API 2W Grade 50t can be used for offshore use or for fixed structures.
